Project Overview

Detailed as-built survey of reinforced concrete cooling towers and fractionation towers.

The project involved the creation of an inspection-oriented Digital Twin designed to support structural assessment, maintenance planning, and long-term asset monitoring within complex industrial environments.

High-resolution reality capture technologies were integrated with a dedicated digital platform for the cataloguing, management, and consultation of inspection imagery and technical datasets associated with structural and inspection reporting activities.

Particular focus was placed on AI-assisted crack detection workflows, enabling semi-automated identification, classification, and monitoring of surface anomalies such as cracks, spalling, degradation patterns, and localized structural defects.

The integrated analysis environment supports historical comparison of defect evolution over time, improving the ability to identify recurring deterioration mechanisms and prioritize intervention strategies based on severity and progression trends.

The system is designed to support predictive maintenance approaches by transforming large volumes of visual inspection data into structured and searchable digital information.

This enables faster decision-making processes, reduction of unplanned downtime, optimization of inspection campaigns, and more efficient allocation of maintenance resources across industrial assets.
