ROCCA MALATESTIANA - RIMINI
Project Overview
As-built acquisition and Digital Twin creation of the Rocca Malatestiana and its surrounding urban environment, aimed at supporting the urban regeneration and redevelopment of the area, including the perimeter of the Teatro Amintore Galli.
The project involved integrated reality capture activities through advanced photogrammetric, topographic, and laser scanning methodologies to generate a high-resolution and georeferenced digital representation of both the historical fortress and the surrounding urban fabric.
The generated datasets enabled the development of a scalable Digital Twin environment intended to support architectural analysis, urban planning, heritage conservation, infrastructure coordination, and future redevelopment strategies.
Particular attention was dedicated to the interaction between historical heritage assets and contemporary urban spaces, enabling detailed evaluation of accessibility, public space organization, mobility flows, landscape integration, and future enhancement scenarios within one of the most historically significant areas of the city.
The Digital Twin provides a centralized and continuously updatable digital environment capable of supporting multidisciplinary workflows involving architects, engineers, public authorities, cultural heritage institutions, and urban planning stakeholders.
The digital ecosystem also enables future integration with GIS platforms, smart city systems, monitoring technologies, and asset management workflows related to the long-term conservation and valorization of the historical and urban context.
