ARCELOR MITTAL - Ex ILVA TARANTO
Project Overview
Acquisition of the as-built condition of industrial gas racks and distribution lines aimed at seismic and structural vulnerability assessment activities.
The project involved large-scale integrated survey and inspection operations within an active industrial environment, supporting structural analysis, infrastructure safety assessment, and future maintenance and retrofit planning activities. High-resolution photogrammetric and inspection workflows enabled the complete digitalization of steel portals, pipe racks, gas distribution lines, and associated foundation and support structures.
The acquired datasets were structured to support engineering evaluations related to seismic behavior, structural integrity, and operational continuity of critical industrial infrastructure systems.
Visual inspections and photographic reporting activities were carried out on each surveyed element to identify degradation, anomalies, corrosion phenomena, and potential structural criticalities.
Each asset was documented through dedicated monographic sheets containing geometric, photographic, and inspection information, while the generation of an updated orthophoto of the entire plant area provided a unified and georeferenced operational framework for future engineering, maintenance, and asset management activities.
54 km of industrial gas distribution lines surveyed
1,754 steel portals fully surveyed
Photogrammetric and inspection survey of portals, racks, pipelines, and all related foundation/support structures
Visual inspection and photographic reporting of structural conditions
Preparation of dedicated monographic sheets for each asset
Updated orthophoto of the entire industrial plant area
